So, how have we been the past 3 years? Not too bad, overall. Sooner or later I'll put up a photo gallery covering the last 37 months of Aaron's development. For this little letter, I'm enclosing two pictures. We hope you like them.
Aaron continues to amaze. He's still a lightweight -- just 27 pounds -- but he makes up for it in energy and chutzpah. His favorite response to being told "no" is, "What would happen if I do that?" For the record, he started walking at 14 months, said his first word at 17 months ("apple"), said his second word probably a year later, and didn't start talking until about a year ago. He is a composer, multi-rhythmic drummer, mechanical engineer, climber of all things scalable, storyteller, comedian, unintentional philosopher, and tickler. And women of all ages want to steal his eyelashes.
Best part for Aaron is that this year he prepares to become a big brother. Our second child is due at the end of May. We received the amnio results back last week and all is well. We will find out the sex of the baby at birth.
In other matters: Matt's still at GM, 4 managers, 2 transfers and and half a dozen desks removed from the last letter. Lori went through the program at MSU Extension to become a master gardener, and the garden now provides more things than I can count. From fresh lettuce in February (in Michigan!) to summer berries and veggies, to fall apples and pears, we're either planting, cleaning or harvesting most of the year. We got a serious apple cider press and put out 45 gallons this year; next year we may need a 3rd freezer to keep it.
In November, we went to my 20th high school reunion, and it wasn't nearly as awful as I feared it might be. Most of us even looked pretty good. The music was wretched, though. I cannot believe we actually listened to that stuff.
So, here are the pictures, both taken October 1, 2000. We hope you are well, and that we will hear from you soon!
Love,
